Franklin County Deputies Handle Two Armed Domestic Incidents In Three Days
Franklin County law enforcement faced two dangerous domestic disturbances involving armed suspects in separate incidents on December 9 and December 11. Both situations required the intervention of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office SWAT team and resulted in the arrest of the suspects.
The first incident occurred early on December 9 at a residence in the 500 block of Park Island Drive in Villa Ridge. Deputies responded to a report of domestic assault around 6:00 a.m. The victim informed officers that during a physical altercation, the suspect, later identified as Tracy Myers, 60, held a pistol in a threatening manner. When the victim attempted to call 911, Myers reportedly threatened her, her family, and law enforcement.
Upon arrival, deputies established a perimeter around the home. A detective observed Myers briefly exit the residence, making threatening statements about initiating a confrontation with law enforcement before retreating inside.
The SWAT team and negotiators were called to the scene. After two hours of phone negotiations, Myers agreed to surrender and was taken into custody without further incident. A search warrant was obtained, and the pistol described by the victim was recovered from the residence.
Myers has been charged with:
- Domestic Assault 2nd Degree (Class D Felony)
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon—Exhibiting (Class D Felony)
He is being held at the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility on a $100,000 cash-only bond.
Two days later, deputies responded to another domestic disturbance involving a firearm in the 300 block of Lost Pines in Union, Missouri. Around 10:45 a.m., the reporting party claimed the suspect, identified as Christopher Vollmer, 53, had discharged a firearm and threatened to harm her dog.
As deputies arrived, Vollmer was observed entering the residence through the open front door, ignoring commands to exit. At one point, he placed a rifle on the porch before re-entering the home and reportedly made a statement about having the means to "blow everyone up."
Negotiators and SWAT personnel attempted to establish communication with Vollmer while ensuring the safety of a female occupant, who exited the home during the standoff. Despite prolonged negotiations, Vollmer refused to cooperate.
SWAT operators eventually entered the residence under a search warrant and apprehended Vollmer. A search of the home did not uncover any explosive devices.
Vollmer has been charged with:
- Unlawful Use of a Weapon—Exhibiting (Class E Felony)
- Domestic Assault 4th Degree (Class A Misdemeanor)
He is being held without bond and has reportedly refused to comply with booking procedures.
