Softball Takes Second At Rolla
Sullivan (16-14) took second place in the FCNB Rolla Invitational, held from Oct. 11-12. The Lady Eagles capped off the regular season by winning three of their five games at Ber Juan Park.
They first blanked Nixa (16-16) with an 8-0 shutout on Friday. Ella Blanton led the Lady Eagles with two runs, while Dorie Richardson had a team-high three hits and 2 RBIs.
Sullivan then slid by Jefferson City (15-9) for a 2-1 victory. Evvie Blankenship’s two RBIs drove Molly Lohden and Richardson home to win.
The Lady Eagles ended pool play with an 8-3 loss against Willard (15-15). Lohden scored two of Sullivan’s runs while Carli McCreary punched in the other.
They opened up Saturday with a 4-0 crushing over Carthage (20-14). Blanton, McCreary, Blankenship and Lohden put scores on the board.
The Lady Eagles finished second after falling 14-4 to Mid-Buchanan (28-4) in the championship.
Batting Stats
Richardson broke away with six hits, 3 RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases.
Lohden led Sullivan with six runs. She also executed six hits, 2 RBIs and a double.
Blankenship had a team-high seven hits. She also had 3 RBIs, two runs, two doubles and a triple.
Blanton dominated with four runs, three hits, an RBI, two stolen bases, a double and a walk.
McCreary racked up three runs, 2 RBIs, four hits and a walk.
Ava Declue drove in 4 RBIs and made three hits.
McKynlee Peterson picked up a run, a hit and a walk.
Evelynn Harris recorded a run and a walk.
Rae Corwin made a score, a hit and two stolen bases.
Kennedi Roach punched it home once and stole a base.
