Driver Fleeing Police Crashes, Ejected From Motorcycle

UPDATE: 

Carter was charged with five felony counts of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful use of a weapon and resisting arrest and one misdemeanor count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to the probable cause statement, a Cuba police officer attempted to stop Carter on Interstate 44 at the 209 mile marker.

Carter took off at a high rate of speed, exceeding past 100 mph.

He exited at Leasburg and went south on Highway H.

Carter crashed at the entrance of Onondaga Cave.

Carter had warrants for his arrest.

The officer seized a 9mm pistol with a full magazine, methamphetamine, 11 Xanas bars and paraphernalia. 

The motorcycle had an altered VIN and it was unclear who the owner was. 

A Columbia man fleeing police crashed near Onondaga State Park and was ejected from his motorcycle on June 15.

Joshua J. Carter, 28, had moderate injuries.

He was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital and released.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Carter was fleeing a Cuba police officer around 10:21 a.m.

He failed to negotiate a curve on Highway H and traveled off the right side of the road.

The Kawasaki motorcycle overturned, ejecting Carter.

As of Sunday, Carter was being held at the Crawford County Jail.

Carter is currently on probation.
