Baseball Soars With Awards
The 2023-24 season was a massive success for the Eagle baseball team, with six players earning well-deserved honors for leading Sullivan to a back-to-back district title.
Drake Gawer stacked up first-team all-state, all-district and all-conference honors this year. The junior, who will continue his pitching career at Texas Tech University, rocked the mound with a 2.279 ERA, 1.23 WHIP, and 67 strikeouts. Gawer powered a .417 batting average with 30 hits and .455 on-base and 1.024 on-base plus percentages.
Senior Cambrian Koch capped off his baseball career with all-district and second-team all-conference selections.
Junior Seth Valley and senior Dayton Skaggs made it onto the all-district team.
Senior Gavin Schmidt was unanimously named first-team all-conference, while junior Nate McReynolds was second-team.
