Proposition Lifesaver Falls Short Of Approval

The North Crawford County Ambulance District’s debt service levy proposition fell short of a supermajority on Tuesday night.

According to election results posted by Crawford County, Proposition Lifesaver received 639 “yes” votes against 563 “no“ votes.

The proposition needed 57.14 percent approval and garnered 53.16 percent.

There were 1,226 ballots cast across the ambulance district, with just 11.55 percent voter turnout.

Crawford County was one of several counties in the East Central College taxing district deciding on the fate of Proposition ECC. 

County voters disapproved — with 231 voting against and only 205 for it. 

Bourbon

The city of Bourbon did not have any contested elections.

Mayor Dave Lafferty and Ward 1 Alderman John Nelson were unopposed in their bid for new terms. 

Lafferty received 47 votes and there were six unresolved write-in votes.

Nelson had 23 votes and there were no write-in votes.

Ward 2 Alderwoman Sonya Sewald did not file for reelection. 

There were five unresolved write-in votes. 

There were no school board elections.

Fire Board

Crawford County voters backed Tim Leasor. 

Leasor received 56 votes, while Frank Blanton had 54 votes. James W. Johnson received 22 votes.
