Basketball Gears Up For Special Events

As their seasons are almost closing, Sullivan’s boys’ and girls’ basketball teams have some major events coming up on their schedule.

Coaches vs. Cancer

St. Clair will host the varsity Eagles basketball teams at a “Coaches vs. Cancer” event on Friday, Feb. 2. The girls’ game will start at 5:30 p.m., followed by the boys’ game at 7 p.m. A spaghetti supper will be hosted in the cafeteria, and raffle prizes, including St. Louis Cardinals tickets, will fundraise for the cause.

Senior Nights

Girls basketball will hold their Senior Night on Monday, Feb. 5. The ceremony will follow the JV game against St. James, which starts at 5:30 p.m.

Boys basketball hosts their Senior Night the day after on Tuesday, Feb. 6. The seniors will be recognized once the JV game (which starts at 5:30 p.m.) against St. James ends.

Courtwarming/Pancake Supper

The Courtwarming game is on Friday, Feb. 9, against New Haven. The coronation ceremony will follow the JV game, which begins at 5:30 p.m. The varsity game is expected to start at 7 p.m., following the announcement of the courtwarming king and queen.

Sullivan Rotary Club will also host a pancake supper from 4:30 to 7:15 p.m. at the Sullivan High School cafeteria. The event will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage and a boys’ basketball doubleheader in the gym.

Tickets for the pancake supper include free admission to the game. The cost is $5 for those aged ten and under and $10 for adults. All proceeds will be used to support local scholarships and community projects. Tickets will be available at the Sullivan High School basketball game on Tuesday, Feb. 6, and can be purchased from any Rotarian or at the door.
