Jones, Peregoy Named Assistant Superintendents At Sullivan
Becky Jones and Matt Peregoy have been named assistant superintendents at the Sullivan School District, effective July 1, 2024.
Jones Jones will be Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment, while Peregoy Peregoy will serve as Superintendent of Student Services.
Jones will replace Cindy Carey, who is retiring in June.
Jones
Jones has been in education for 15 years. She has a Bachelor of Arts in English Education from the Missouri University of Science and Technology, a Master of Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University, and a Specialist in Education Administration from Missouri Baptist University.
Jones began her career at Vienna Elementary, where she taught 3rd grade (2009-2010). She then moved to Cuba Middle School and taught 6th grade from 2010-2013. Mrs. Jones then became a 7th grade ELA instructor for the Sullivan School District (2013-2018). She currently serves as the Sullivan Middle School Assistant Principal.
Jones is married to her husband, Brad. They have three children, son, Bradley, daughter-in-law Taylor, and grandson Teddy; daughter, Bria and son-in-law, J.J., and the youngest, Maggie.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling, and spending time outdoors.
“I am absolutely thrilled to be given the opportunity to serve in this capacity,” Jones said. “I want to give a special thank you to Dr.Thornsberry and the Board of Education for giving me a chance to continue supporting the school district and community where I live. I am extremely proud of the good things happening in our district. I believe in the Sullivan School District and want to continue to grow the district in a positive direction, creating a successful environment for both students and staff.”
Peregoy
Peregoy has been in education for 13 years. He has a Bachelor of Arts in Human Service Agency Management and Criminal Justice from Lindenwood University, a Master of Educational Administration from Missouri Baptist University, and a Specialist in Education Leadership from Missouri Baptist University.
Peregoy started his professional career in non-profit business management. From there, he moved into the private sector, spending 15 years managing and owning businesses primarily in the construction industry.
Peregoy began his education career in 2010 as an English teacher and wrestling coach in the Sullivan School District, where he also taught technology and engineering.
In 2020, Peregoy moved into education administration, serving as the head principal of Bourbon High School until the present day.
Peregoy is married to his wife of 26 years, Laura. They have five children: Ethan (25), Isaac (23), Adam (18), Eli (16), and Abigail (15).
He and his family enjoy traveling together in the outdoors, where they are avid hikers, campers, and mountain climbers.
“I am both thrilled and honored to have the opportunity to return to service in the Sullivan School District, where we will continue to grow together. I am especially thankful to Dr. Thornsberry and the Board of Education for their faith and support. The future of the district is something I am very excited about. With such great staff and students, we are sure to succeed!”
