Parker Whaley Inks With Jefferson College

Parker Whaley signed with Jefferson College to continue his cross country and track careers for the 2024–25 school year.

He is looking forward to racing an 8K as a Viking and achieving a goal of 7:30 per mile by the time he leaves. On his other objectives, Whaley stated, “I want to develop and be the best athlete I can be and hopefully get some offers from four-year universities.”

He hopes to make his mark on Jefferson’s new cross country program, which was recently formed in the fall of 2023. “I’m looking forward to bringing my leadership and experience there,” Whaley explained. “So, hopefully [I can help bring] home the national title.”

Whaley brings a list of accomplishments with him as a cross country runner, including a personal best 5K time of 21:17.19 that he raced at the Missouri Southern Stampede. He also received the Coaches’ Choice award from his head coach, Terry Wood, “for his unwavering dedication and enthusiasm.” Whaley thanks Wood for taking a chance on him during his freshman year.
