The American Red Cross, is partnering up with the family and friends of Christina Lambing to host a blood drive in her honor Wednesday, Nov. 15, from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Sullivan Eagles Hall, 1000 Acid Mine Rd, Sullivan, MO 63080.

Christina, diagnosed in April 2022, is currently receiving blood products for Myelofibrosis, a rare blood cancer that causes scarring of the bone marrow, making it difficult to produce blood cells.

Christina is receiving transfusions every three weeks and is asking her community to come together to support blood collections that affects all cancer patients!

The American Red Cross continues to recover from a significant shortfall in donations throughout late summer and fall. As a thank-you for helping rebuild the blood supply, and to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the film “Elf” and create holiday cheer, all who come to give Nov. 10 - Nov. 30 will receive an exclusive pair of “Elf” + Red Cross socks, while supplies last. Visit RedCrossBlood.org/Elf for details.

To Donate:

Simply download the American Red Cross Blood Donor App, visit RedCrossBlood.org, call 1-800-RED CROSS (1-800-733-2767) and enter/mention sponsor code CLambing or enable the Blood Donor Skill on any Alexa Echo device to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age in most states (16 with parental consent where allowed by state law), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also must meet certain height and weight requirements.

Blood and platelet donors can save time at their next donation by using RapidPass® to complete their pre-donation reading and health history questionnaire online, on the day of their donation, before arriving at the blood drive. To get started, follow the instructions at RedCrossBlood.org/RapidPass or use the Blood Donor App.
