Koch Achieves A Hat Trick Against Crocker

over Crocker, Cambrian Koch scored three goals, one of which was the game-winner in overtime.

On his final score of the match, Koch said, “I was fortunate to get a good touch and chip it in over the goalie. Obviously, it was a great feeling, but I was just more happy with the overall team win.”

After a week of three losses, including two overtime matches, the Eagles were eager to get their fourth win of the season.

“Losing 3 games in a week can be detrimental to a team’s mindset,” Koch stated. “Obviously we were upset, but lingering on stuff like that gets us nowhere. [When] getting off the bus for the Crocker game, we were fully aware that nothing would be handed to us.”

In the beginning of the first half, Sullivan tied the score at 1-1 with a goal by Carsen Dudley, who slotted it into the net from the left corner with an assist from Wyatt Kraus.

Crocker struck back with a goal and the Eagles tied it again at 2-2 as Koch served the ball high, bouncing it off the crossbar and into the net.

Sullivan’s third goal came from Koch, who chipped the ball between two Lions, rolling it into the net to tie the game at 3-3 and force a third half.

“Going into overtime, I was somewhat upset, we were struggling to put our offense together and it was hurting us,” Koch explained. “However, in the moment, I knew that no matter what had happened prior to overtime, the game was now in my hands.”

The ball was passed from Luke Herron to Koch who then went face-to-face with the Lions goalkeeper. Koch kicked the ball up, tricking him as it slowly slid in for an Eagles victory.

Koch led his team to victory, scoring three goals, earning 6 points and making 4 shots to secure the win.

Dudley completed a shot, scored a goal, earned 2 points and delivered a corner.

Zechariah Beagle and Herron both collected an assist, a point and a corner.

Kraus had a shot, an assist and a point.

Winning goalkeeper Alex Toews made 8 saves.
