Softball Picks Up 3 Wins In Springfield
The Lady Eagles headed to the Springfield Invitational this weekend at the Killian Sports Complex.
Sullivan crushed Logan-Rogersville with a score of 10-1 but fell 5-7 to Willard and 4-0 to Sherwood. They picked themselves back up with victories against Camdenton at 7-2 and 2-1 against West Plains.
The Springfield Invitational gave rookies the opportunity to shine, and head coach Ashley Crump is beginning to see them take on larger roles within the team.
“We’ve had several freshmen in the lineup this year. Rae Corwin and Mckynlee Peterson continue to be in every varsity lineup,” Crump said, “They both seem to be more comfortable and have taken on the challenge of playing different positions.”
Corwin and Peterson stood out by making four runs each in this tournament.
