Villa Ridge Man Arrested For Assault, Posts Bond, Assaults Victim Again

A Villa Ridge man is accused of assaulting a victim, posting bond and not even 24 hours later, assaulting the victim again.

The Franklin County SWAT Team was called in after the man barricaded himself inside the residence.

Isaiah W.R. Bell, 25, has been charged with second-degree domestic assault and violation of a court order.

According to Sheriff Steven Pelton, a victim went to the sheriff’s office around 12:30 a.m. on July 16 to report an assault.

The victim said she became involved in a verbal altercation with Bell and attempted to leave. Bell allegedly assaulted her and attempted to pull her back into the residence.

She escaped and went to the sheriff’s office.

There were injuries on the victim consistent with her account of the incident.

Another deputy went to the location and took Bell into custody on active warrants for traffic offenses.

He was taken to the Franklin County Adult Detention Center. He also was served an order of protection.

Bell posted bond around 1 a.m. on July 17 and was released from custody.

He went back to the home and forced entry.

A verbal altercation ensued, with a physical struggle over a weapon he had grabbed.

The victim removed the weapon and hid it. She then fled the area.

Bell caught the victim and began assaulting her on the ground outside the residence. She once again escaped and contacted deputies.

Deputies responded to arrest Bell, but he refused to exit.

The SWAT and negotiation teams responded to the scene.

After hours of attempted contact, the SWAT made entry into the home and found Bell hiding in a bedroom in the company of a child.
