Two Wanted In Crawford County Arrested At Lake St. Clair

Two people wanted in Crawford County were arrested July 8 at Lake St. Clair.

Matthew Lackey, 40, St. Clair and Rebecca Guyton were taken into custody by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release, the sheriff’s office was contacted by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office about Lackey, who was allegedly involved in weapons offenses earlier that day.

Deputies began searching the Lake St. Clair area and located the suspect’s vehicle near Lake No. 2.

Nearby, deputies observed people fishing. Lackey and another person were seen walking toward the vehicle. They blocked the vehicle, but Lackey escaped on foot.

He was later caught and taken into custody.

Deputies searched the area where Lackey and Guyton had been, finding a handgun and later, narcotics.

Guyton was wanted on warrants from Franklin County for domestic assault and in Crawford County for failure to appear.

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office will seek charges on Lackey for unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance.
