Pacific Teen Seriously Injured While Fleeing Deputies
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said a Pacific teen had serious injuries Monday after crashing during a pursuit with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office.
Matthew L. Wilkerson, 19, was taken to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
According to the patrol, Wilkerson was fleeing from deputies in a 2001 Ford Ranger. He attempted to take the exit at the 251 mile-marker and went through the grass median.
He lost control, struck the guardrail and overturned.
Wilkerson was not wearing a safety device.
Online court records show that Wilkerson has charges against him for trespassing, stealing and property damage.
