Three Requests, Three Purchase Items And One Ordinance Before Council
The Sullivan City Council was scheduled for a full agenda during their first meeting of June, with three requests approval, three purchase items and one proposed ordinance.
Under requests and petitions, the council had three requests from the Meramec Community Fair that included approval of the track, stage/rodeo beer gardens, approval for parade lineup street closure at 5:30 p.m. on June 20 and parade approval for Tuesday, June 20 at 7 p.m.
The second request was from Lift With Love/Muscle Bar event for Summerfest, with a temporary liquor license and city water usage for a fire truck sprinkler.
The final request was from St. Anthony for the annual parish festival liquor license to be used August 26-27.
City Administrator J.T. Hardy was scheduled to report that only one bid was received for the Nova Chip street paving with N.B. West Contracting presenting a bid of $571,919.60 with a budgeted figure of $599,916.28.
The streets proposed for the surfacing project include: George, Mervin, Alden, Bud, North Church, Industrial Dr., Strauser, Walter, Heritage, Pine Ridge, Sappington Bridge and Airport Rd.
Water Commissioner John Garner was scheduled to report to the council that the lift station control panel at 630 Grandview is needing replaced, with the new panel expense costing $8,155 and a 16-18 week lead time to receive it.
Garner is seeking council approval for the procurement.
Crawford County Second District Commissioner Jared Boast is seeking the City of Sullivan to work with Crawford County to chip and seal Blanton Road. Boast said that one half is in the city of Sullivan and half in Crawford County.
Boast has proposed a cost estimate of $14,000 to $15,000, with the city paying an amount not to exceed $7,500.
Hardy is seeking council direction on proceeding with this proposal.
The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
