Sullivan Teen Still Recovering After Accident May 9
A Sullivan teen is still recovering after suffering serious injuries in an accident May 9 on Luechtefeld Road, near Acid Mine Road.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a 2013 Kawasaki KLX, operated by Jackson Revelle, failed to maintain control of his vehicle and began to slide into the eastbound lane of Luechtefeld Road. The Kawasaki slid in front of a 2002 Ford F-250, driven by Daniel R. Hawkins, 54, Sullivan.
The motorcycle became disabled underneath the vehicle.
Revelle was flown by ARCH helicopter to St. Louis Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
An event was held May 13 at “Sunny” Jim Bottomley Park where residents gathered to pray for Revelle’s recovery.
Jackson Revelle is the son of Josh and Alison Revelle.
Alison Revelle posted on the Facebook page, “Showin out for Jackson” that shortly after his accident they were told he would most likely not survive.
“We all started praying so hard and continuously; his family, friends, church, teammates, coaches, classmates, teachers and many others who care so much about this brave boy,” she wrote. “Well, at this point in his recovery, he has proven the doctors wrong! He is hanging in there and making small improvements. He is still not awake, and is still very critical, but Rejoice in these small improvements. You all should rejoice too! I honestly believe it has been ALL the many heartfelt prayers, and maybe little bit of that strong determination that Jackson is known for that has made this possible. Keep praying! We have to keep this going in the right direction. Thank you all from me, my family and especially Jackson.”
