Two Crawford County Residents Airlifted Following Crash On I-44

Two Crawford County residents had serious injuries May 20 after their vehicle was struck in the rear by a tractor trailer.
David O’Neail, 56, Cuba and Paula M. O’Neail, 55, Cuba, were flown by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for treatment.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 6:45 a.m. at the 216 mile-marker, which is two miles west of Bourbon.
According to the patrol, a 2006 Peterbilt, driven by David A. Sappington, 44, Dadeville, Mo., was pulling to the shoulder when David O'Neail struck it in the rear in a 2019 Mack tractor.
Paula O’Neail was not wearing a safety device.
