Vehicle Theft Suspect Arrested In Gasconade County

A 31-year-old Owensville man has been arrested in connection with a vehicle theft in Sullivan following assistance from the Gasconade County Sheriff’sDepartment. 

Gasconade County Sheriff Scott Eiler, reported that on Wednesday, April 12, deputies were informed of a possible suspect or suspects involved in a vehicle theft in Sullivan that could be in the Rosebud area.

A Gasconade Deputy observed a female riding an all-terrain vehicle on Highway 28, just west of Pump Station Road.

The female and a male suspect were stopped and detained. Through the deputy’s investigation, he learned that the stolen truck, a 2000 Ford F-150,  was at a residence in the 2000 block of Highway 28.

Deputies responded to the residence and located the truck and detained a third individual.

K9 officer Xena conducted a free air sniff of the ATV. The dog alerted authorities and several capsules of suspected fentanyl, meth and other drug paraphernalia were allegedly located in the bag of Veronica Johnson, Rosebud. 

She was taken into custody for outstanding warrants while Jack D. Seabens, 31, Owensville, was transported to Sullivan Police where he was arrested for motor vehicle theft.

Seabens was released pending formal charges on the truck theft through the prosecuting attorney’s office.

The third individual was issued a court summons and released from the scene.

According to Sullivan Police a 2000 Ford F-150 XLT was stolen from the 400 block of Pine Street on Tuesday, April 11.
