Sullivan Resident Arrested Following Disturbance Thursday Night
A Sullivan woman was detained and transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital after she allegedly rammed a vehicle with her vehicle at a residence in which she lived, then fired a shot from a 9 mm handgun in the 900 block of Sappington Bridge Road
According to Sullivan Police, the incident began shortly after 9:30 p.m. when the subject pulled into a relative’s driveway, slamming or ramming her vehicle into the homeowner’s vehicle.
The suspect then discharged the weapon and ran into the home, but didn’t return.
Sullivan Police, Missouri State Highway Patrol, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department and Crawford County Sheriff’s Department all responded to the home.
“Our officers used the PA system within the patrol car to seek the occupants inside the home to exit,” said Sullivan Police Chief Patrick Johnson. “It was at this time a female occupant in a wheelchair opened the door and officers made their way into the home locating the suspect hiding in a closet.”
Charges for domestic assault, property damage and unlawful use of a weapon are being sought through the Crawford County Prosecutor’s Office.
The suspects name has not been released pending formal charges by Crawford County.
A 9 mm handgun was recovered from the scene as well.
