County Sales Up 3 Percent For December

Crawford County’s general revenue sales tax was up 3.54 percent for December, rebounding from two straight months of year-over-year decline.

The county brought in $226,288.20 for December. In December 2021, the county collected $218,544.72.

December’s rise brought an end to four straight months of gains that were ended for October.

The county saw revenue decline from $180,273.08 in October 2021 to $176,896.85 for October 2022.

It fell again for November, going from $248,511.18 to $225,569.59.

Despite that, Crawford County ended 2022 with year-over-year gains in all but four months.

The county saw sales tax increase a ninth straight year.

It also surpassed $2 million in revenue for a fourth straight year, owing to the sales tax increase that was voted on in April 2018 and made permanent in 2022.

The county collected $2,675,583.07 in 2022, up from $2,561,445.70 in 2021.
