Franklin County Sheriff’s Office Seeking Man Comsidered “Armed and Dangerous”

A man who was being sought in Franklin County on Friday night was arrested Jan. 15 in the city of St. Louis following a vehicle pursuit.
Timothy J. Kalter, 41, St. Louis, was the subject of a manhunt Jan. 13 in the Gray Summit and Villa Ridge areas.
Kalter was wanted for murder. He allegedly shot two victims as he was sitting in the back seat of a vehicle.
A no-bond warrant was issued against Kalter on Jan. 10 for two counts of first-degree murder, first-degree robbery and armed criminal action.
Kalter has a lengthy criminal history, which includes convictions for stealing a motor vehicle in 1998; tampering in 2005; damage to jail property in 2005; theft of a credit card/letter in 2012; possession of a controlled substance in 2013; stealing a motor vehicle in 2013; felony theft in 2014; second-degree assault on a law enforcement officer in 2014 and unlawful possession of a firearm in 2019.
Franklin County Sheriff Steven Pelton said the investigation consumed “countless hours” and thanked investigators from Sullivan, Union, Washington, Pacific, Eureka and officers from Crawford, Jefferson and St. Louis counties.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office currently have an active presence in the Gray Summit area in search of a man, Timothy J. Kalter, who has felony warrants.
It is believed Kalter left the scene of a motor vehicle crash in Gray Summit. He should be considered armed and dangerous, do not approach.
