Crawford County Unemployment At 2.4 Percent For November
Crawford County’s unemployment rate was 2.4 percent in November.
It was the second straight month the Missouri Department of Labor reported a 2.4 percent rate.
Unemployment is up from September, when it registered at a historic 1.8 percent low.
There were 57 initial claims made in November, up from 46 in October and 27 in September.
Unemployment in Crawford County bounced all over throughout 2022.
In January, it rose to 4.4 percent, in line with past trends. It fell over the next few months, to 4 percent in February, 3.9 percent in March and 2.6 percent in April.
The rate ticked back up to 3 percent in May. It fell to 2.5 percent in June, then landed at 3.2 percent in both July and August.
The labor situation has improved since 2021. Unemployment was as high as 6.2 percent in February 2021 as the United States at-large continued to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.
It gradually decreased to 2.7 percent by September 2021 and didn’t rise above 3 percent again until January 2022.

Franklin County unemployment has been at 2.1 percent in October and November.
It fell to 1.6 percent in September.
Gasconade County registered a 2.2 percent rate in November, up from 2 percent in October.
Unemployment in Dent County rose from 2.9 percent in October to 3.1 percent in November.
Iron County’s unemployment rose from 3.8 percent to 3.9 percent.
Unemployment in Phelps County rose from 2.3 percent to 2.4 percent.
Washington County also saw a 0.1 percent increase, from 2.9 percent to 3 percent.
State
The rate in Missouri was 2.7 percent for November, with 12,424 initial claims filed.
