Sullivan Woman Injured In Deadly Head-On Collision

A Sullivan woman was injured in a head-on collision Thursday in Osage County, one that killed the driver who struck her.

Courtney Sims, 31, was taken to University Hospital for treatment.

A 17-year-old juvenile passenger in her 2012 Honda Accord had serious injuries.

Both were wearing seat belts.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said the accident occurred at 9:50 a.m. on Highway 50, east of Hickory Street.

Sims was struck head-on by a 2006 Hyundai Accent, driven by Nicholas White, 45, Fulton. White crossed the center line, the highway patrol said.

White was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Nikki Fox, 33, Fulton, was a passenger in his vehicle and had serious injuries. 

She was flown to University Hospital.

Neither White or Fox were wearing seat belts.
