Juvenile Detained In Alleged Shooting

A Sullivan juvenile was detained and turned over to juvenile authorities following a reported gun shot fired during a fight in the 200 block of Bland Street on Monday, December 19, at 7:57 p.m.

According to Sullivan Police, they were dispatched to the area following multiple 911 calls for a group of males fighting outside of a home and a gun fired during the altercation.

Sullivan Police investigations indicated that the juvenile males had gotten into an altercation over another individual when one male juvenile fired a handgun into the air.

There was no one injured in the shot being fired, according to police.

During the investigation officers recovered the weapon that was alleged to have been used during the altercation.

There were no further details in the case at this time.

The name of the juvenile or juveniles involved will not be released due to state law.
