Two New Apparatus Purchase By Sullivan Fire District
The Sullivan Fire District is continuing to upgrade its equipment to ensure residents have equipment in place should fire occur and to continue to hold and maintain the districts ISO rating which determines insurance rates in the fire district. The lower the ISO the better insurance premiums residents can receive.
Currently the Sullivan Fire Protection District ISO rating in the City limits of Sullivan, West Sullivan and Oak Grove Village is a Class 4, areas outside of the city limits but within five miles of one of the outlying stations in a Class 9 and outside city limits and more than five miles from an outlying station are rates at Class 10.
The Sullivan Fire Protection District recently received two of its new apparatus in the district with the purchase of a new Rosenbauer Commercial Tanker and new Rosenbauer Commercial Pumper.
The two new apparatus now join the districts other three Rosenbauer Fire Apparatus currently serving the residents within the Sullivan Fire Protection District which covers some 174 square miles with a large amount of rural areas.
According to Sentinel Emergency Solutions the new tanker is a Freightliner M2 Chassis with two door cab, Cummins L9 Engine with 350 Horsepower, 3,000 gallons of water storage while the new pumper is also a Freightliner M2 Chassis with four doors, has a Cummins ISL L9 engine with 350 Horsepower and a 1,000 gallon tank.
The Sullivan Independent News will have additional information on these new fire apparatus and the other new additions to the Sullivan Fire Protection District in next weeks issue.
