Eagles Soccer Defeated In Two Games This Week
Sullivan’s boys soccer team battled hard this week on the field.
Sullivan played Wright City at home on Tuesday and was on the road at Borgia on Thursday.
The Eagles fell to the Wildcats on Tuesday, 4-1. Sullivan was shut out by Borgia, 6-0.
Wright City
Kaden Smith saved the ball twice to start the game. Wright City kept the pressure to start the game. Wight City’s Ricardo Uribe had a good run but came up short. Trevor Alexander did the same and Wyatt Kraus came up short on a free kick. Cambrian Koch made two huge fast breaks back to back and Eli Pergoy ran the ball down the field.
Sullivan had a penalty kick, but Wright City saved it from seeing the back of the net. Smith battled and saved the ball but missed one with a little over a minute left in the first half.
In the second half, Smith continued his hard work.
Zechariah Beagle made a good block on defense and Peregoy made another fast break to the net. Sullivan missed a corner kick opportunity, but Max Avery tried to make up for it with a spectacular defense play. The Wildcats added another score when there was 24:25 left in the game. Three minutes later, Sullivan blasted one in the net. Josiah Tanner landed one on a fast break that was right of the goalie.
Wright City painted another ball in the net after a free kick. Wright City secured the win with a little under four minutes left of regular play. Sullivan fell 4-1.
Tanner was the lone scorer for Sullivan. Peregoy shot the ball twice. Dillon Freeman, Dock Thomure, Kraus, and Alexander also shot the ball.
Smith played all 80 minutes as the goalkeeper. He gave up four goals but saved the ball 12 times.
Borgia
Sullivan played on the road Thursday. The Borgia Knights came to play and Sullivan was shut out 6-0. Borgia tallied two goals in the first half and finished off the Eagles when they scored four more in the second half.
Kraus was the only Eagle to shoot the ball.
Smith played all 80 minutes as the goalie and saved the ball 17 times from seeing the net.
Up next: Sullivan will play at home against Pacific on Tuesday and Dixon on Thursday.
