Lady Eagles Triumphant Over Rolla

Sullivan on Monday slammed three runs early to clinch a 6-3 victory over Rolla.

The offense came alive right away in the top of the first. Kayla Ulrich blasted a double to start.

With one out, Jaedin Blankenship singled on a line drive and scored Ulrich.

Sullivan added to their lead in the top of the second.

Pitcher Evvie Blankenship hit a double off the new Rolla relief pitcher. Grace Halmick then hit a single on a bunt and the runner advanced. After the second out, Morgan Braun drilled a home run to right field and Sullivan took a 4-0 lead.

In the top of the third, the Lady Eagles extended their lead.

Hayli Venable scored Alexis Funkhouser when she singled on a line drive. Rolla got on the scoreboard during the bottom half of the inning.

The Lady Eagles finished off the Lady Bulldogs in the top of the sixth. Blankenship continued her great day at the plate with a ground ball single.

Halmick managed a successful sacrifice bunt to advance the runner. Sullivan scored when Ulrich hit a line drive single.

Rolla would another run in the bottom of the inning, but it wasn’t enough as Sullivan held on.

Evvie Blankenship was spectacular on the mound. She pitched all seven innings and gave up three runs on eight hits.

She added eight more strikeouts to her already substantial season total of 82.
