Sullivan Teen Struck And Killed Monday Morning
A Sullivan teen was fatally injured after she was struck by a vehicle on westbound I-44 at the 222.4 mile marker, Monday morning, September 26, at 1:10 a.m.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when a westbound 2018 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Zach H. Conniver, 29, Lewisville, Texas., encountered a pedestrian, Kaitlyn M. Rhoads, 18, Sullivan, who had entered the roadway. The vehicle struck Rhoads, then traveled out of control running off the right side of the roadway.
Rhoads was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.
Conniver was not injured in the accident and his truck was a total loss.
Rhoads was a senior at Bourbon High School.
