Villa Ridge Man Airlifted After Wrong Way Crash On I-44

A Villa Ridge man was airlifted to the hospital with serious injuries early Monday after a wrong way crash on Interstate 44 at the 241 mile marker.
David Martin, 51, was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when he struck a 2020 Jeep Wrangler head-on.
The driver, Jorge Ambris, 37, Elgin, Ill., was uninjured.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
Martin was arrested by the Missouri State Highway Patrol for driving while intoxicated.
