Lee’s Summit Man Arrested For Drug Trafficking

On Saturday July 2, 2022, a Franklin County Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of eastbound Interstate 44 for failing to register a motor vehicle. Upon contact with the driver the deputy observed inconsistences with statements and the driver appeared nervous. As the deputy continued to question the driver, the driver started the vehicle and fled the scene. The deputy pursued the vehicle for a short distance before terminating the pursuit due to erratic driving. 

 

As the deputy exited at Gray Summit (253 mile marker) citizens began pointing the direction the suspect vehicle fled. The deputy was able to locate the vehicle and driver in a parking lot in the 3000 block of Hwy 100. The subject left, heading east bound W Osage. The deputies continued to follow the vehicle from a distance and Pacific PD was able to set up in the area of W Osage. A Pacific Officer observed the vehicle make a right turn onto Lamar Parkway and into a subdivision. Pacific Officers were able to set up tire deflation devices at the entrance while additional officer responded down into the subdivision. The subject drove his vehicle through yards and back onto the street toward the entrance of the subdivision. 

Officers were successful in deploying the tire deflation device, the suspect continued eluding officer East bound on W Osage at speeds over 100 mph. Officers terminated the pursuit and advised Eureka and St. Louis County of the incident. A short time later the subject was taken into custody without further incident on Interstate 44 and Antire Rd. Franklin County Deputies responded to the location and took the subject into custody. A search of the vehicle was conducted and approximately 3 pounds of Crystal Methamphetamine was located in the vehicle. 

    On Sunday July 3, 2022 a warrant was issued for the subject identified as 47 year old, Antonio Duwan Braxton of Lee Summit, Missouri for Exceeded Posted Speed limit, C and I Driving, Trafficking Drugs or Attempt 1st degree, Resisting Arrest /Detention/Stop Fleeing, Possession of Controlled Substance. $100,000.00. 

 

Deputies also contact probation and parole district 24 due to Braxton being on parole for robbery 1st and armed criminal action, a no bond parole violation warrant was issued on July 3.
