Driver Crosses Center Line On Highway 19, Kills Cuba Woman

A Cuba woman had fatal injuries Monday after a Cook Station teen crossed the center line on Highway 19 and struck her vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said Amy Ford, 41, died.

The accident happened about 1.5 miles south of Cuba at 5:18 p.m.

Ford was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital and pronounced dead at 6:57 p.m.

The patrol said a 2006 Honda Odyssey driven by Robert Newkirk, 19, Cook Station, crossed over the center line and struck Ford’s 2014 GMC Sierra.

Ford was wearing a safety device.

It is unknown if Newkirk was.

Newkirk was transported by Air Evac to Mercy Hospital in St. Louis with serious injuries.
