Former Fire Bourbon Chief Charged With Forgery, Theft

Former Bourbon Fire Chief Daniel Whatley has been charged with six counts of forgery and one count of felony theft after he allegedly deposited several checks into his personal account without having authorization to do so.

Whatley, who was removed as fire chief in October 2020 after being charged with assault on a law enforcement officer, allegedly forged a signature on checks from the Bourbon Fireman’s Fund between August 2018 and February 2019.
