Tigers Triumphant Over Eagles
Sullivan fell 52-36 to Salem on Wednesday, a game that was rescheduled because of weather.
Sullivan tried to stop the momentum from Salem's early lead but came up short.
The game started when Logan Watters nailed a 3-pointer. Salem answered back with two layups back to back.
They extended their lead with a three-point shot and Head Coach Dino McKinney took a time out with a little under five and half minutes left in the first.
Salem placed a shot inside off the glass but Luke Todd answered back with another 3.
Dace made a layup to add to the score but Salem answered back with two more layups.
McKinney took a timeout to talk to his team and Gabe Dace landed a free throw before the first quarter ended and Salem was up 13-9.
Collin Heavin of Salem sank a free throw when the second quarter started. The Tigers scored a shot from the other side of the 3-point line and then Sullivan took a time out with 4:48 left in the half.
Kyle Lewis landed a free throw and Salem answered back with a layup. With every score by Sullivan it seemed like Salem had an answer. Haiden Sanders of Salem made a huge three point shot and Salem's Levi Smith made a free throw.
Salem made another free throw to extend their lead, but Cambrian Koch made a layup with a second left in first half and the score was 23-12. The second quarter was the difference maker in the game.
Sullivan tried to make adjustments at the break. Watters made a 3-pointer to start the second half and Salem answered back with a layup. The Tigers made another shot from the free throw line and Blaine Sappington sank a layup.
The Eagles sank in two more free throws and Charlie Lohden hit a huge three point basket with a little over two minutes left in the third. Salem answered back with a layup of their own and Sanders netted another three point shot. Sappington snapped in another layup and Salem landed one too. Coach McKinney took a timeout and thirteen seconds remained. Gunner Konkel of Salem landed an inside shot off the glass at the buzzer and the score was 37-22.
The Eagles wanted to bridge the gap and have a closer deficit. Salem landed a layup first in the fourth and Sappington sank a rebuttal. The Tigers answered back and Sappington sailed in two more free throws. Salem answered back with six and a half minutes left in the game.
Gabe Dace tried to shoot in a three pointer but missed and the ball was recovered by Gavin Dace who shot in the layup. Lewis shined on the defense and stole the ball away from Salem and dished it to Koch who scored an inside shot. Salem tallied two more free throw and then decided to take a timeout with four minutes left in the game.
The Tigers secured two more points and two more layups and the score was 49-30 before Lewis landed a free throw. Sullivan had 19 fouls with 2:49 left to play. Salem made a free throw before Todd netted a late game three-point shot. Salem only had less fouls then what Sullivan had. Sullivan scored two more points and the final score was 52-36.

The Eagles were coming off a loss one night earlier at Union.
The Wildcats snapped Sullivan’s three-game winning streak with a 72-66 victory.
