Student May Have Fabricated Gun Threat At Pacific

The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said a text message indicating that a gun would be brought to Pacific High School on Sept. 23 was possibly fabricated to get a student in trouble.

According to Sheriff Steven Pelton, a Meramec Valley School District administrator contacted the office on Wednesday around 6 p.m.

There was an allegation that a student would be bringing a gun to school on Thursday.

An investigation showed that a text message was sent indicating the gun would be brought to the school and not to show up between 7:30 a.m. and noon.

Law enforcement responded to the student’s residence and took the juvenile into custody.

An interview was conducted with the juvenile.

A preliminary investigation shows the threat was possibly fabricated by another juvenile to get the suspect in trouble.

It is an ongoing investigation and Pelton said there is no current threat.
