Woman Charged In DWI Crash Injuring Juveniles
A Union woman was allegedly intoxicated when she overturned her vehicle, causing injuries to two children Aug. 9 on Interstate 44 in Crawford County.
Jasmine A. Harley, 28, has been charged with driving while intoxicated — physical injury, two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and a misdemeanor for failing to drive on the right half of the road.
The highway patrol said the crash occurred around 12:20 p.m. near the 216 mile marker.
Harley was driving a 2006 Chevrolet Equinox when she drove off the road, overturned and went into the median.
Two juveniles — ages 7 and 2 — had minor injuries and were taken to Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis.
Harley had minor injuries and was taken to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital. She was later taken to the Crawford County Jail.
The highway patrol alleges there were intoxicants coming from Harley’s breath. She was allegedly slurring her speech and bloodshot, glassy eyes.
Harley also refused a breath test and field sobriety test.
