Woman Accused Of Using Business Credit Card To Purchase Gift Cards
A Union woman was charged May 29 after she allegedly used her former employer’s credit card to make $1,500 worth of gift card purchases from Lowe’s — three weeks after her termination from the company.
Victoria D. Missey, born 1980, faces one count of fraudulent use of a credit/debit device and one count of fraudulent procurement of credit or debit device.
According to the probable cause statement, Missey was hired at a Washington nursery and florist shop in November 2023.
During the course of her employment, she was added as an authorized buyer on the company’s Lowe’s business credit card account.
The action was not approved by anyone with authority in the company.
Around April 29, Missey was terminated from the business due to an active, open investigation over criminal actions during her employment.
On May 18, Missey entered the Lowe’s in Washington and allegedly used the company credit card to purchase $1,500 in Visa gift cards.
She validated her identity by showing a photo ID and the transaction was approved since she was listed as an authorized buyer.
Video evidence was obtained from Lowe’s that Missey made the transaction.
Washington Police served a search warrant at Missey’s residence on May 29, seized many items, including one of the gift cards that was fraudulently purchased.
