A Washington man charged in the hit-and-run death of a victim on Highway 100 is due in court Oct. 28.

James Sitze, 21, has been charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

Sitze is accused of striking Jason Gilley, 56, Villa Ridge, on Highway 100 at Cromwell Drive on May 2, 2021.

Sitze allegedly fled the scene, which happened around 3:10 a.m.

If convicted, Sitze could face up to seven years in the Missouri Department of Corrections and/or fines up to $10,000.
