Villa Ridge Woman Charged In Child's Death

A Villa Ridge woman has been charged with child abuse in the death of a toddler.
Ashlyn M. Shaw-Hanneken, born 2001, faces one count of abuse or neglect of a child — resulting in death.
The incident happened June 20.
According to the felony complaint, Shaw-Hanneken struck the child in the head, which later caused their death.
A warrant was issued for Shaw-Hanneken’s arrest on June 25. She is being held without bond.
