Vehicle Goes Airborne At Highway AF In Fatal Accident
A St. Louis man was fatally injured July 23 on Highway AF and North Church Street, after the vehicle he was operating traveled off the roadway, went airborne and landed on its side.
According to Sullivan Police, an officer was patrolling in the area of Highway AF and North Church Street when he observed a 2014 GMC Arcadia on its side in a field.
Mahmmod Alquorishi, 38, was operating the Arcadia when the vehicle ran off the right side of Highway AF and drove some 100 yards along the ditch. The vehicle traveled through the ditch and went airborne over North Church Street.
Sullivan Fire and Missouri Baptist Ambulance responded to the scene, which was near Sullivan Fire Station 5, and were able to extricate Alquorishi from the vehicle. at which time he was transported to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital where he passed from his injuries at 1:42 a.m.
Sullivan Police continue to investigate the accident and had no further information at press time as to contributing factors to the accident.
The vehicle was a total loss.
