Two Stolen Mowers Recovered, Suspect Sought

Sullivan Police detectives are currently working an investigation into two stolen Bad Boy zero turn lawn mowers stolen from Coffman Power Sports, 1382 South Service Rd. West, during the night of December 28, or early morning December 29, the mowers were later recovered.

Police were called to the business at 10:24 a.m. Thursday when they reported that the mowers had been stolen overnight.

One of the business members observed a suspicious Dodge Ram, red in color, with a U-Haul trailer attached to it near Mattox Drive, believing that it was in a suspicious location and approached the vehicle that was not far from the dealership.

The suspect in the truck spotted the business member and reportedly sped towards him, narrowly missing the member's truck.

Police and a member began to pursue the suspect, believed to be a white male, 6’0 tall, driving down Sappington Bridge, then onto Highway D, before turning onto Sappington Bridge Road and then onto Pipeline Road, when the pursuit ended.

The two mowers were recovered in different locations as the suspect had not successfully transported the mowers before discarding them.

The U-Haul trailer plate was listed as an Arizona license plate, 00024AB.

Police are continuing to follow leads in the case and ask that anyone with information to contact Detectives at 573-468-8001.
