Two Arrested In Robbery At St. Clair Convenience Store

Two Franklin County residents were arrested Friday in connection with a robbery at a convenience store in St. Clair.

Zackary Hays and Michael Randall, Jr., are being held at the Franklin County Jail on $50,000 bonds.

The incident put the St. Clair R-13 school district on lockdown.

An investigation revealed the on-duty cashier was involved in the plot to rob the store and it had been discussed prior to the robbery.

According to a press release from St. Clair Police, the incident occurred after 10 a.m. on Thursday at One Stop.

A suspect dressed in dark clothing and possibly armed with a handgun had taken off on foot, carrying a red tote with an undetermined amount of cash.

Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were called in to assist.

They were arrested Friday.

Hays has been charged with felony theft.

Randall has been charged with theft, unlawful possession of a firearm and tampering with physical evidence.
