Trooper Struck By Driver, Airlifted To Hospital

A Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was airlifted to a St. Louis hospital Saturday night after he was struck on the South Outer Road in Crawford County.
The highway patrol said Colby B. Townsend, 25, Rolla, had serious injuries.
According to the patrol, the accident occurred at 6:20 p.m., four miles west of Sullivan, when a 2017 Dodge Ram 1500 struck Townsend as he was roadside.
Townsend was checking on another pedestrian.
The driver, William D. King, 74, Cuba, failed to observe Townsend and struck him.
