Three Ordinances Before Council Tuesday Night

The Sullivan City Council was scheduled to meet Tuesday, May 5, with special COVID-19 circumstances being implemented.

There were social distancing measures in place and the council was expected to take action on three proposed bills for approval as city ordinances.

The council had no requests or petitions and nothing posted under City Administrator J.T. Hardy’s report to the council.

The three proposed ordinances were:

Ord. 3885, sponsored by Alderman Tony Wessler, would re-subdivide Lots 29 and 30 of Tessa Park Estates by moving the lot line 10 feet south in order to make Lot 30 larger. The property is owned by Crump Investments, Incorporated and is currently zoned R-4.

Ord. 3886, sponsored by Alderman Tony Wessler, would adjust lines on two separate lots located at 42 South Olive. The property is owned by Kuenzel Properties, LLC and is currently zoned R-1.

Ord. 3887, sponsored by Alderman Tony Wessler, would consolidate four lots into two lots located at 347 North Clark, 122 West Springfield, and 126 West Springfield. The property is owned by Leroy and Sharon Toews and Cross Stone Holdings and is currently zoned C-3.

The Board of Aldermen is also expected to discuss the Sullivan parks system and what to do with ball leagues, swimming pool, splash park and possible discussions on the Meramec Community Fair.

The council did have closed session posted for real estate, litigation and personnel.
