Three Arrested After Teen Found Deceased
Three Washington residents have been arrested following the death of a 13-year-old Washington Middle School Student found deceased in their home.
Washington Police announced Monday, August 30, that they were called on Sunday, August 29, to the 600 block of West 7th St., Washington, for an unresponsive 13-year-old male. Washington Police and Ambulance responded to the home where they found the 13-year-old child deceased in an upstairs bedroom.
The child is identified as Zachary A. Foster, 13, a seventh grade student at Washington Middle School.
Officers began their investigation at the home Sunday and learned that Foster had spent the night at the home with a 12-year-old friend who lives at the home. Sometime during the night, the two boys experimented with drugs found in the residence.
Three adults living in the home, a 62-year-old male, 59-year-old male and a 46-year-old female were taken into custody for drug related charges but at press time were not charged in the death of Foster.
Washington Police Chief Menefee and the entire Washington Police Department expressed their condolences to the family of Zachary Foster and asked everyone to give them privacy at this time,
Chief Menefee indicated that this is an active investigation and additional charges could be filed by the Franklin County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
All those taken into custody are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
