Suspect Arrested In Shooting On DeClue Road, Charges Pending

On today's date, at approximately 1110 hours, Deputies responded to the 8000 block of Hwy ZZ for a report of a shooting that occurred. Deputies were notified prior to arrival that the victim had left the scene, but the suspect was possibly still in the area. Upon arrival of deputies and members of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a suspect was identified but not located. Investigators with our Criminal Investigations Division arrived to process the scene, interview witnesses, and obtain additional information. 

During this time, Central Communications advised that the victim was possibly located on DeClue Road and was requesting EMS. Additional deputies and CID investigators responded to an address on DeClue Rd. and located a 40 year old male who suffered a gun shot wound. The victim was transferred to an area hospital for treatment with serious injuries by North Crawford County Ambulance.

During the course of the investigation, a MSHP trooper located the suspect vehicle in the city of Cuba, and made contact. The suspect was taken into custody without incident and transferred  by deputies to the Crawford County Adult Detention Center for the application of charges. CID Investigators processed several scenes during this investigation lasting into the evening. There is no reason to believe there are any further suspects at large. Any additional information will be provided after formal charges are filed.
