Sullivan Man Found With Gun, Drugs

A Sullivan man has been charged after he was stopped with a firearm and methamphetamine Oct. 17 in Franklin County.

Christopher J. Gauvain, born 1984, has been charged with unlawful use of a weapon — possessing a weapon and a felony substance and possession of a controlled substance.

Gauvain is on probation for non-support and harassment. 

The probable cause statement says Gauvain had an active warrant. The police department’s K-9 unit alerted officers to an odor. Methamphetamine was recovered from where the suspect was seated.

Gauvain told police the gun belonged to him.
