Sullivan Man Fatally Injured In Head-On Accident

A Sullivan man was fatally injured following a head-on accident Tuesday, August 16, at 2:45 p.m. on Missouri Highway 185 South at Sleepy Hollow Rd.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred when David M. Hobbs, 61, Sullivan, operating a westbound 2006 Mercury Milan, lost control of his vehicle and came across the center of the roadway. He struck an eastbound 2014 Chevrolet Silverado, driven by Robert Smith, 83, Sullivan.
Hobbs was pronounced deceased at the accident scene while Smith and a passenger, Linda R. Busse, 70, Sullivan, sustained minor injuries and were transported by Missouri Baptist Ambulance to Missouri Baptist Sullivan Hospital, for treatment.
Both vehicles were a total loss.
