Sullivan Man Charged With Domestic Assault
A Sullivan man has been charged in with second-degree domestic assault and is being held without bond after he allegedly assaulted two people at their home.
Steven Bunton, 42, is accused of attacking a man in the 200 block of Modern Street on April 7.
The male victim was trying to speak with Bunton “about his yelling and attitude.” Bunton allegedly grabbed the victim, pushed him into a wall and poked him in the eye.
He then grabbed him by the throat and choked him.
Officers responded to the residence where the incident occurred and located a large picture frame that had fallen off the wall and broke where the altercation occurred.
Bunton was taken into custody and during the booking process allegedly stated, “I hope that mother (explicit) eye hurts. I pushed my thumb into it as hard as I could.”
Bunton was held at the Sullivan Jail and warrants were issued.
