Sullivan Man Charged With Armed Criminal Action
A Sullivan man has been charged after he allegedly discharged a firearm Feb. 23 outside a Beaufort man’s home.
Andrew Shay, 39, faces charges for firing a gun at a building/habitable structure, armed criminal action and unlawful possession of a firearm.
The Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said the incident occurred in the 800 block of Wild Rose Lane.
The victim said he was sleeping and woke up to someone banging on his door.
When he went to the door, a male began screaming at him to stay away from his daughters.
Several gunshots were then heard.
Deputies went to the 400 block of Misty Valley Lane in Beaufort.
The two subjects who went to the victim’s home were a male and female.
The female drove the male — identified as Shay — to the residence.
A 12-gauge shotgun and ammunition were located at the residence.
Shay was placed under arrest.
his bond was set at $250,000.
Shay has been previously convicted for unlawful use of a weapon and second-degree assault.
