Sullivan Fire District Loans Equipment To Eminence Fire
A fire broke out at the Eminence Volunteer Fire Department on March 5, destroying a station that serves around 1,000 residents in the area.
Every apparatus, vehicle and equipment owned by the rural department also was destroyed.
The Sullivan Fire Protection District extended a helping hand by loaning Eminence a 3,000-gallon tanker, along with several other rescue tools, hand tools, water supply appliances and light bars.
Eminence Fire Chief Jim Bay has ties to the Sullivan area. Bay served more than 25 years for the Sullivan Fire Protection District and remains an honorary firefighter.
The district is committed to helping Bay and the Eminence Fire Department until they get back up and running.
Several fire departments across the United States are reaching out to assist Eminence and several fundraisers are underway to help the department.
If you would like to make a donation to assist the department in getting back on their feet you can send your donations to: Eminence Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 518, Eminence, Mo. 65466.
An online fundraised has generated some $10,250 thus far on Facebook.
